Hundreds of children in Edmonton have no access to arts education.

Every child deserves a chance to develop their talent!
The Mission
Through arts exposure and mentoring, children are empowered to engage with
and transcend their life circumstances.
What is ArtStart?
We provide affordable, accessible and professional quality lessons in Drama,
Dance, Visual Art and Music.
We offer field trips, special events and performance opportunities for all participants.
Where and When is ArtStart?
Regular programming in Visual Art, Dance and Drama runs from September to
June on Thursdays from 4 - 7pm at Alex Taylor School (9321 Jasper Ave).
Private music lessons are arranged at the convenience of instructors and
parents. Most take place at Alex Taylor School.
Who is ArtStart for?
Elementary aged children from low-income families.

Who Supports ArtStart?
All programs are led by a team of volunteer arts professionals and students.
Funding comes entirely though donations from the community.
Through our partners and sponsors we are able to offer scholarships for outstanding participants. We are a partner agency with Summer @ CCEP, a six-week day camp for kids from the eight schools of the City Centre Education Project.
